Karyl had a busy career in marketing and public relations. To relieve stress and stay fit, she has always been physically active playing a variety of sports. She also took classes in Jazzercise and aerobics for many years. However, knee injuries combined with scoliosis meant that the constant pounding of many activities was not a healthy choice.
She discovered yoga in 2002, and completed the 200 hour RYT yoga teacher training program in 2009. She has been teaching gentle, basic and flow classes, while also attending multiple workshops in the U.S. and abroad.
For Karyl, yoga is much more than a form of exercise. It is a commitment to understanding yourself and an approach to handling all the challenges life brings to us. Her favorite quote: “Yoga is not about touching your toes. It’s what you learn about yourself on the way down.”
